  dining services

At Leelanau our goal is to provide home-style cooking for the Leelanau community. Our food service team is always looking at new trends and introducing new food to our family. Our service concept is straight-line cafeteria, although for special occasions we provide sit-down, family-style service.

We provide three meals daily, seven days a week. Breakfast includes a different hot entrée; i.e. eggs to order, pancakes, waffles, French toast and hot or cold cereal daily.

Lunch consists of a hot or cold entrée, homemade soups and a full salad bar (with fresh salads prepared daily) and a bread bar (at all meals).

Dinner may include beef, chicken, pork, pasta, or fish, with many side dishes, and desserts to complement the meal. All meals include fresh fruits, salad bar, and beverage bar.

Weekends are a bit more relaxed. On Saturdays, continental breakfast is provided for early risers which includes fresh fruits and fresh-baked goods until 10:30 a.m. From 10:30 to noon, Brunch is served which includes, but is not limited to, Belgian waffles, omelets to order, eggs Benedict, fresh fruits, an assortment of breakfast meats and a hot entree.

Saturday dinner is create your own pizza night and is a favorite among the Leelanau community. Everyone can put together their own pizzas from a variety of toppings that are baked fresh in our oven.

Vegetarian items are available at lunch and dinner.

We occasionaly offer an elective (non-credit) cooking class. During our cooking class, students learn some of the basics of food preparations and also help with the preparations of the evening meal.

A food committee comprised of students and staff meet regularly, to discuss menu items.
