The Counseling
Program
The Leelanau
School provides counseling support to students. The schools
full time licensed counselor is available for crisis intervention,
for short term counseling, and for assisting students in finding
other resources when needed.
Licensed therapists
from the community are utilized per agreement with students and
parents. The Grand Traverse community offers a wide variety of professional
services for counseling, psycho-educational testing, substance abuse
assessments, and support. The school's counselor coordinates most
of these services and the parents of the student carry the expense.
The school has counselors available who provide their services on
school grounds each Saturday to reduce the loss of academic time.
